The Hermon Hawks Softball Team remained perfect on the 2017 season, defeating the Ellsworth Eagles 4-1 in Hermon on Friday, May 12th.

Hermon scored 1 run in the bottom of the 1st inning when Hailey Perry singled and was moved to second when Breanne Oakes walked. Megan Chamberlain singled to load the bases, and Perry scored on Katie Windsor's RBI single to left.

Hermon added 3 more runs in the 5th inning. Oakes singled to left and advanced on Windsor's base hit. Chloe Raymond tripled scoring Oakes and Windsor and then Raymond scored on Rachel Balmas' single.

Ellsworth got on the scoreboard in the top of the 7th inning when Katelynn Bagley singled and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Hannah Sargent. Bagley scored on Callie Hammer's RBI single to center.

For Ellsworth, Mackenzie Chipman pitched the complete game, striking out 2, walking 2 and allowing 8 hits.

Oakes pitched for Hermon allowing 3 hits and striking out 8.

Ellsworth now 4-4 plays host to Old Town on Monday, May 15th at 4:30 PM.

Hermon, 9-0 plays at Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday May 16th at 4:30 PM
