The Ellsworth Eagles and John Bapst Crusaders finally played their 1st game of the 2019 season, the last Class B North teams to do so on Thursday, April 25th and the Ellsworth Eagles defeated the Crusaders 13-1, in 5 innings, in Ellsworth.

Mackenzie Chipman went the distance for Ellsworth striking out 9 while walking 4. She allowed 3 hits and 1 run.

Lacey Scanlon, Paige Drinkwater and Olivia Harriman had John Bapst hits, all singles.

The Eagles banged out 15 hits off of Morgan Vidal and Madi Hussey. Katie Hammer had 3 singles to lead Ellsworth's hitting attack. Sara Shea, Sydney Stevens, Kayla Duhaime and Lexi Rossi each had 2 hits. Shea, Duhaime, Mackenzie Chipman and Isabelle Perry each had a double for the Eagles.

Ellsworth is now 1-0 and is scheduled to play host to Presque Isle in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27th at 12 Noon and 2.

John Bapst is 0-1 and is scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday, April 27th against Lee Academy
