The Ellsworth Softball Team beat Caribou 9-2 and 11-3 in an exhibition doubleheader on Monday, April 19th in their final Spring tuneup before opening the regular season on Saturday.

In Game 1 Tyler Hellum pitched 7 innings, striking out 14, and allowing 1 hit for the Egles. Caribou's 2 runs were both unearned.

At the plate for Ellsworth Tyler Hellum led the team with 3 singles and 1 RBI, Morgan Duhaime had 2 singles and a RBI, and Sophia Lynch added 2 singles and a RBI

In Game 2 Anna Stevens pitched 3 innings facing 16 batters striking out 4, walking 5 and giving up 0 hits for Ellsworth. Hannah Wagstaff pitched 2 innings facing 7 batters striking out 3 walking 1 and giving up 0 hits.

At the plate for Ellsworth, Tyler Hellum had a double and a single, Annabelle Hackett had a double and a RBI, Hannah Wagstaff had 2 singles and 4 stolen bases, and Anna Stevens had a single and 5 stolen bases.

Ellsworth will open the season at home on Saturday, April 23rd with a doubleheader at Noon and 2 p.m. against the Presque Isle Wildcats.

Caribou will travel back to Hancock County to open the season on Saturday, April 23rd with a doubleheader at Noon and 2 p.m. against the MDI Trojans

The Ellsworth Eagles played their final exhibition games of the Spring, hosting the Caribou Vikings in a doubleheader on Patriot's Day, Monday, April 18th Both teams open the regular season on Saturday, April 23rd with doubleheaders.
