Ellsworth Locks Up 2nd Place in Class B North Beats Hermon 44-29 [PHOTOS]
The Ellsworth Eagles locked up 2nd place in Class B North, with 1 game to go, after beating the Hermon Hawks 44-29 in Hermon on Saturday, February 1st.
Hermon was without Senior standout Isaac Varney, who had a walking boot on his right foot.
Hermon led 7-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Zac Tubbs had 5 points with a 2-pointer and Wyatt Gogan had 2 points. For Ellsworth Austin Harris had the Eagle's lone points.
In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Hermon 16-6 to take a 19-13 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Harris had 5 points for Ellsworth, with a 3-pointer and Hunter and Jackson Curtis each had 4 points while Connor Crawford had 2 points. For Hermon Tubbs, Gogan and Trey Brown each had 2 points.
In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Hermon 13-10 to increase their lead 32-23. Harris had 5 points with his 2nd 3-pointer for Ellsworth. Jackson Curtis had a 3-pointer. Connor Crawford had 3 points and Hunter Curtis 2 points. For the Hawks Eli Reed had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Jaeden Henderson had 2 points and Gogan was 1-2 from the free throw line.
In the 4th Quarter Jackson Curtis had 6 points, Darby Berry 4 points and Hunter Curtis 2 points for Ellsworth. For Hermon Eli Reed had 4 points and Henderson 2 points.
Ellsworth was led by Austin Harris had 14 points and Jackson Curtis had 13 points. The Eagles were 3-3 from the free throw line.
Hermon was led by Eli Reed with 11 points and Zac Tubbs had 7 points. The Hawks were 5-11 from the free throw line.
