Ellsworth JV Girls Defeat Hampden 31-26 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth JV Girls Team opened their season with a 31-26 victory over the Hampden Broncos at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth Tuesday, January 19th

Ellsworth jumped out to a 10-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Allie Neleski had 4 points while Alex Bivins, Megan Jordan and Aaliyah Manning each had 2 points for the Eagles. For the Broncos Chandler Smith had 4 points, while Madison Cain, Josie Smith and Logan Daigle each had 1 point.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Hampden 12-4 to take a 22-11 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Manning had 4 points for Ellsworth while Jordan, Olivia Harmon, Neleski and Brooke Pirie had 2 points each. For Hampden Cain and Destiny Mooers each had 2 points.

Hampden Academy outscored Ellsworth 7-5 in the 3rd Quarter to cut the lead to 27-18. Logan Daigle had 4 points for the Broncos while Ava Downs had 2 points and Josie Smith 1 point. For Ellsworth Alex Bivins had 3 points and Brooke Pirie added 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Hampden Academy doubled up Ellsworth 8-4 but Ellsworth's lead was too much for the Broncos to prevail. Daigle had 5 points for Hampden Academy and Madison Cain 3 points while Brooke Piirie scored all 4 points for Ellsworth before picking up her 5th foul

Ellsworth was led by Brooke Pirie with 8 points while Aaliyah Manning and Allie Neleski each had 6 points. Ellsworth was 1-4 from the free throw line

Hampden Academy was led by Logan Daigle with a game high 10 points while Madison Cain had 6 points. The Broncos were 8-18 from the free throw line
