Ellsworth JV Girls Basketball Defeats Bucksport 37-23 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth JV Girls Basketball Team defeated the Bucksport Golden Bucks 37-23 on Thursday, January 21st at Katsiaficas Gymnasium as the Eagles drained 7 3-pointers.

The score was tied 6-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter. For Ellsworth, Alex Bivins, Megan Jordan and Wendy Manning each chipped in with 2 points while Sara Bos, Kaylee Gray and Makenzie Brooks each had 2 points for the Golden Bucks.

Ellsworth outscored Bucksport 11-8 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 17-14 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Alex Bivins had 3 3-pointers from the same spot on the right baseline for 9 points. Allie Neleski had 2 points for the Eagles. For Bucksport Samantha Cyr had 4 points while Sara Bos and Merceds Taungatua each had 2 points

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Bucksport 14-6 to take a 31-20 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Aaliyah Manning drained 4 3-pointers for Ellsworth for 12 points while Wendy Manning added 2 points. For Bucksport Kaylee Gray had all 6 points.

In the 4th Quarter Ellsworth doubled up Bucksport 6-3. Megan Jordan had all 6 points for Ellsworth while Sara Bos had 2 points and Kaylee Gray went 1-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Aaliyah Manning with 12 points while Alex Bivins had 11 points. Ellsworth was 0-2 from the free throw line.

Bucksport was led by Kaylee Gray with 9 points while Sara Bos had 6 points. Bucksport was 1-4 from the free throw line.
