Ellsworth Girls Use Suffocating Defense to Beat MDI 76-26 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team used their suffocating defense to beat MDI 76-26 on Thursday night, at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Thursday, December 28th.

Ellsworth held MDI to 2 points in the 1st Quarter, 8 points in the 2nd Quarter and 5 points in the 3rd Quarter. Ellsworth led 9-2 at the end of the 1st Quarter, 27-10 at the Half and 59-15 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray with 28 points and Kaylee Bagley had 16 points. The Eagles had 10 3-pointers on the night. Bagley had 4 3-pointers and Jaffray had 3 3-pointers. Elise Sargent and Elizabeth Boles, Sydney Mason each had a 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 4-5 from the free throw liner.

MDI was led by Lexi Tozier with 11 points. Sophia Brophia finished with 7 points. MDI was 6-10 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 3-2 and will host Houlton on Saturday, December 30th at 4 :30 p.m.
