Ellsworth Girls Triple Up Washington Academy [RECAP/STATS/PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team defeated Washington Academy 75-21 on Wednesday, January 3rd at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth. It was Ellsworth's second win in as many nights.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the 1st Quarter and never looked back. Trinity Montigny was on fire scoring 14 points, Katelynn Bagley had 6 points and Kayla Duhaime 3 points for Ellsworth. For Washington Academy Teeya Harmon, Riley Fraser and Katie Leighton each had 2 points.

It was 37-10 at the end of the 1st Half as Ellsworth outscored Washington Academy 16-4 in the 2nd Quarter. Samantha Carter coming off the bench had 2 3-pointers for 6 points for Ellsworth and Kaitlyn McCullough, Sara Shea, Sierra Andrews, Hannah Sargent, Montigny and Bagley all chipped in with 2 points. For the Raiders Madelyn Willey had 3 points and Harmon 1 point.

It was 62-19 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Montigny added 10 points, Bagley 6 points, Sargent a 3-pointer and Andrews, Duhaime and Shea each added 2 points. For the Raiders Willey had a 3-pointer, Leighton had 3 points, Fraser 2 points and Haley Libby 1 point.

In the 4th Quarter Ellsworth outscored Washington Academy 13-2. Carter had 2 more 3-pointers to finish with 4 3's on the night. Autumn Paul had 3 points and Andrews and McCullough had 2 points each for the Eagles. Washington Academy's lone points came from Emma Griffin.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with a game high 24 points. Kaitlynn Bagley and Samantha Carter each had 12 points. The Eagles were 8-10 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy was led by Madelyn Willey with 6 points. The Raiders were 4-11 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth now 5-2 plays host to undefeated Hermon on Friday, January 5th at 7PM.

Washington Academy 0-9 plays host to Foxcroft Academy on Saturday, January 6th at 1:30PM.
