The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team defeated George Stevens Academy 5-1 at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth on Saturday morning, October 24th in the Battle of Eagles.

Ellsworth controlled the pace of play and the possession early in the 1st Half and were finally rewarded when Lexi Rossi found the back of the net with 24:07 remaining to put Ellsworth up 1-0.

Just minutes after the break for sanitizing of hands and changing the balls Ellsworth scored twice within 30 seconds. First Addi Laslie scored off of a direct kick at the 17:05 mark and that was followed by Kayla DuHaime's goal with 16:37 left to make it 3-0 Ellsworth.

Sierra Andrews made it 4-0 scoring with 9:58 remaining in the 1st Half.

GSA got on the scoreboard, hen Clementine Bannon scored with 2:48 remaining in the 1st Half.

The Half ended with Ellsworth outshooting 18-2 and leading on the scoreboard 4-1.

The lone goal scored in the 2nd Half was by Ellsworth's Abby Bland when she chested the ball in off of a corner kick.

Ellsworth outshot GSA 30-4 in the game.

The Ellsworth Eagles are back in action on Monday, October 26th when they travel to Brewer to play the Witches. That game at 7 p.m. will be livestreamed for free HERE
