The Ellsworth Girl's Basketball Team rolled over Old Town Saturday, night, February 4th, defeating the Coyotes 45-32 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Hannah Sargent and Sammy Mason each had 3 points for Ellsworth while Kaitlynn Bagley and Callie Hammer had 2 points each for the Eagles. Old Town's lone 2 points came from Olivia Albert.

Ellsworth increased their lead to 10 points at the half, 19-9 but it could have been a lot more, as Ellsworth was 0-9 from the free throw line in the 2nd Quarter. In the Quarter Sammy Mason had a 3-pointer and Trinity Montigny, Hannah Sargent and Callie Hammer each had 2 points for the Eagles. For Old Town Corinne Saucier was 4-4 from the free throw line, Alanna Chavaree had a 2-point basket and Jasmine Smith was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth increased their lead to 16 points at the end of the 3rd Quarter, 35-19. Hannah Sargent had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Katelynn Bagley had 4 points and Kacie Omlore and Callie Hammer each had 2 points while Samantha Simmons chipped in 1 point for the Eagles. For Old Town, Claudia Damboise had 6 points, Natalie St. Louis had a 3-pointer and Alicia Colombe was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter for Ellsworth Trinity Montigny had 5 points, Callie Hammer 2 points, and Kacie Omlor and Audrey Ward each chipped in 1 point, going 1-2 from the free throw line. For Old Town Cassidy Holmes had 2 3-pointers for 6 points, Olivia Albert ahd 4 points, Alicia Colombe 2 points and Jennessa Brown chipped in with 1 point.

Ellsworth was led by Sammy Mason and Callie Hammer with 8 points each while Trinity Montigny had 6 points and Katelynn Bagley 6 points. Ellsworth shot 13-38 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Cassidy Holmes, OIivia Albert and Claudia Damboise, each of whom had 6 points. Old Town was 11-18 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 8-8 on the season and in 10th place in the Class B North Girl's Heal Points. The Eagles have 2 games remaining, Monday, February 6th at home at 7 PM against John Bapst and then they host MDI in the last game on Wednesday February 8th at 7 PM. Both games will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio and on our free dowloadable APP, sponsored by First National Bank.

Old Town is now 1-16 and finish the season Wednesday, February 8th at 7 PM when they host Orono.
