Ellsworth Girls Remain Undefeated Beating Old Town 69-50 [STATS]

The top 2 teams in Class B North battled Wednesday night, as Ellsworth hosted Old Town. In a game broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and streamed on Ticket TV, the Ellsworth Girls remained undefeated, beating Old Town 69-50.

Old Town led 18-13 at the end of the 1st Quarter. In the 2nd Quarter, Old Town took advantage of Ellsworth's high-pressure defense, going 7-8 from the free throw line. But Ellsworth outscored Old Town 19-13 to take a slim 32-31 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth came out in the 2nd Half, controlling the boards and outscored Old Town 21-9 to take a 53-40 lead. Old Town didn't score until there were 2 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Elizabeth Boles with a game-high 19 points. Grace Jaffray had 17 points. Abby Radel, celebrating her 17th birthday had 13 points. Lily Bean had 12 points. The Eagles drained 8 3-pointers on the night. Bean, Boles, and Kaylee Bagley each had 2 3-pointers. Grace Jaffray and Abby Radel each had a 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 7-10 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Saige Evans with 18 points. Taylor Loring had 16 points. Danica Brown had 2 3-pointers and Taylor Loring had a 3-pointer. The Coyotes were 11-14 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 12-0. They will host John Bapst on Friday night, January 19th. That game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA with the pregame starting at 6:40 p.m. The game will also be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
