Ellsworth Girls Rally to Beat Old Town 48-43 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team rallied to beat Old Town 48-43 at Mackenzie Gymnasium on Thursday night, December 5th to begin the 2024-25 season.

Old Town led the entire game until Ellsworth tied the game at 41-41 with 4:53 remaining in the 4th Quarter and took the lead for good with 3:28 left to play, 42-41.The Eagles outscored Old Town 29-18 in the 2nd Half.

Old Town led 15-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and 25-19 at the end of the 1st Half. The Coyotes led 37-36 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Old Town had a definite advantage in rebounding, limiting the Eagles to just 1 chance at the hoop most of the night.

The Eagles had 3 players in double figures. Elizabeth Boles had 15 points, Kaylee Bagley had 12 points and Lily Bean 11 points. The Eagles made 8 3-pointers. Bagley and Bean each had 3 3's, while Abby Radel and Elizabeth Boles each had 1 3-pointer. The Eagles were 10-13 from the free throw line.

Old Town also had 3 players in double figures. Karina Dumond had 12 points, Taylor Loring 11 points and Olivia Ketch 10 points before fouling out. Old Town didn't hit a 3-pointer and were 11-17 from the free throw line.

Old Town, 0-1 will host Presque Isle on Saturday, December 7th at 1:30 p.m.

Ellsworth, 1-0 will host Foxcroft Academy on Monday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP, and on any Alexa enabled device  with the pregame beginning at 6:15 p.m.

In the JV game, Old Town beat Ellsworth 30-28.
