The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team's season came to an end Friday night, February 14th, falling to the Waterville Panthers 65-32 in the Girls Class B Northern Maine Quarterfinals from the Cross Insurance Center.

Waterville jumped out to a 21-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Sadie Garling had 7 points with a 3-pointer for Waterville. Kali Thompson had 5 points. Abigail Saucier had a 3-pointer and Paige St. Pierre, Jayda Murray and Madeline Martin all had 2 points. For Ellsworth, Trinity Montigny had 4 points and Kylie Robidoux 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Waterville 13-12 to cut the lead to 33-19. Montigny had 5 points, Casey Carter a 3-pointer, and Morgan Clifford and Autumn Paul 2 points each. Kylie Robidoux was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Waterville Martin had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Saucier had 4 points with a 3-pointer and Garling a 3-pointer.

In the 3rd Quarter Waterville went on a 10-0 to start the Quarter. They outscored Ellsworth 10-6 to put the game away, as they led 43-25. Martin had 5 points with her 2nd 3-pointer of the night. Garline had 3 points on a 3-pointer and Thompson 2 points. For Ellsworth, Samantha Carter had a 3-pointer and Montigny 3 points.

In the 4th Quater Garling hit 2 more 3-pointers, to end iwth 4 on the night. Lindsay Given had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Murray had 4 points. Madeline Martin was 3-3 from the free throw line. Paige St. Pierre and Sadie Works were each 2-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth Montigny had a 3-pointer and Sara Shea and Alicia Kelley each had 2 points.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with 15 points. Casey Carter, Kylie Robidoux and Samantha Carter each had 3 points. The Eagles weere 3-9 from the free throw line.

Waterville was led by Sadie Garlin with a game high 19 points while Madeline Martin had 15 points. After going 2-12 from the free throw line, Waterville went 9-9 in the 4th Quarter to finish 11-21.

Ellsworth's season comes to an end with a 11-9 record.

Waterville, now 18-1 will play the #3 seed Presque Isle in the semifinals from the Cross Insurance Center on Wednesday, February 19th at 2 p.m.
