The Ellsworth Girls Varsity Soccer Team trailed 2-0 before coming back to tie the score at 2-2 before ultimately losing to the Hampden Broncos 3-2 with a minute remaining in the game

Hampden opened the scoring with 2:09 elapsed when Eliza Murphy scored. It was 2-0 when Hampden scored again, with Murphy being credited with the goal as Ellsworth scored a own goal. The 2nd goal came with 23:35 remaining in the 1st Half.

Ellsworth cut the lead in half, when Sierra Andrews scored with 13:59 remaining.

The 1st Half ended with the Broncos up 2-1.

With 2:06 elapsed in the 2nd half, Addi Laslie knotted the score at 2-2 with a long goal.

Hampden had numerous chances in the 2nd Half, but Ellsworth goalie Kylie Jade was equal to the task, with several incredible point blank saves

The Broncos scored the winning goal with 1 minute left when Lauren Voteur scored.

Hampden Academy had 25 shots on goal while Ellsworth had 15 shots on goal.

Ellsworth plays next at home on Friday night, October 2nd against Bucksport at 6 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
