The Ellsworth Girls remained undefeated, beating Washington Academy 71-43 on Saturday afternoon, December 30th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 16-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and 38-22 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 59-32 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray with 27 points. Abby Radel had 18 points and Elizabeth Boles had 12 points. The Eagles drained 8 3-pointers on the afternoon. Boles had 3 3's, with Radel and Jaffray singing 2 3's each. Elise Sargent had Ellsworth's other 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 7-17 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy was led by Reese Crossman with 14 points. Taylor MacDonald had 7 points. Grace Howard had the Raider's lone 3-pointer. Washington Academy was 12-20 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy is now 2-4. They will travel to MDI on Wednesday, January 3rd to play the Trojans at 7 p.m.

Ellswrorth now 6-0 will play 6-0 Old Town in Old Town on Wednesday, January 3rd. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 6:40 p.m.
