Ellsworth Girls Beat Washington Academy 55-48 on Senior Night [STATS/RECAP]
The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team defeated Washington Academy 55-48 on Monday, February 22nd. It was the last regular season home basketball game for Ellsworth, and the last time that seniors Samantha Higgins, Sierra Andrews, Autumn Paul, Ella Hubbard, Samantha Carter and Kylie Robidoux would play at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in a regular season game.
Ellsworth jumped out to a 15-13 lead at the en of the 1st Quarter. Samantha Carter led Ellsworth with 6 points, going 4-4 from the free throw line. Sierra Andrews had 6 points, Kylie Robidoux had 2 points and Autumn Paul was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Washington Academy Lucy Kilton had 5 points and Emma Griffin and Raeanah Reynolds each had 4 points.
Washington Academy outscored Ellsworth 17-11 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 30-26 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Kelci Williams had 7 points to lead the Raiders, with a 3-pointer. Kilton had 3 points, and Reynolds, Chloe Dinsmore and Rachel Vose all chipped in 2 points while Griffin was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth Jocelyn Jordan had 4 points, Casey Carter drained a 3-pointer and Morgan Clifford and Samantha Carter each chipped in 2 points.
In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Washington Academy 18-9 to take a 44-38 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Casey Carter paced Ellsworth with 5 points including her 2nd 3-pointer of the game. Samantha Carter and Jocelyn Jordan each had 4 points, while Ella Hubbard and Kylie Robidoux added 2 points while Sierra Andrews was 1-2 from the free throw line.
In the 4th Quarter Ella Hubbard had a 3-pointer for Ellsworth while Casey Carter, Kylie Robidoux, Sierra Andrews and Autumn Paul each chipped in 2 points. For the Raiders, Raenah Reynols, and Lucy Kilton each had 3 points while Chloe Dinsmore and Emma Griffin each had 2 points.
Ellsworth was led by Samanha Carter with 12 point while Jocelyn Jordan and Casey Carter each had 10 points. The Eagles were 8-11 from the free throw line
Washington Academy was led by Lucy Kelton with 11 points. Emma Griffin, Raeanah Reynolds and Kelci Williams each finishing with 9 points. The Raiders were 8-17 from the free throw line,
