Ellsworth Girls Beat Old Town 43-30 [RECAP/STATS/PHOTOS]

The 3rd time was a charm as the Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the Old Town Coyotes 43-30 on Tuesday, January 2nd at Katsiaficas Gymnasium. The game was postponed twice prior to tonight's game, and this also was the Eagles first home game of the 2017-18 season because of the postponements.

Old Town jumped out to a 11-4 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Corinne Saucier had 4 points for Old Town, Claudia Damboise had 3 points and Hannah Richardson and Olivia Albert had 2 points each. Kaitlynn Bagley had 3 points for Ellsworth and Trinity Montigny had 1 point.

Ellsworth outscored Old Town 12-6 in the 2nd Quarter to cut Old Town's lead to 1 point at the end of the 1st Half 17-16. Montigny had 5 points for Ellsworth as did Hannah Sargent with a 3-pointer and Kayla Duhaime had 2 points. For Old Town Hannah Richards, Jenessa Brown and Damboise each had 2 points.

The game was tied 26-26 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Bagley had 6 points for Ellsworth and Montigny and Sargent each had 2 points. For Old Town Brown had 7 points and Damboise had 2 points.

Ellsworth finally pulled away in the final minutes of the game. Kylie Robidoux scored all of her 8 points in the 4th Quarter for Ellsworth, Bagley had 5 points and Montigny and Sierra Andrews each went 202 from the free throw line for the Eagles. Hannah Richards scored all of Old Town's 4 points

Ellsworth was led by Kaitlynn Bagley with 14 points while Trinity Montigny had 10 points. The Eagles were 8-14 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Jenessa Brown with 9 points while Hannah Richards had 8 points. The Coyotes were 6-9 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth, now 4-2 is back in action on Wednesday, January 3rd when they will host Washington Academy with a special 6:30 PM start. Our pregame will begin at 6:15 on on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Old Town 1-4 is scheduled to play host to Foxcroft Academy Thursday, January 4th at 7 PM.
