Ellsworth Girls Beat MDI 60-48 in Final Game of Regular Season [PHOTOS/STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls' Basketball Team defeated MDI 60-48 in the final game of the regular season at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, February 6th.

Ellsworth led 17-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter and then went on a 10-0 run to start the 2nd Quarter. The Eagles led 35-21 at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth ended the 3rd Quarter going 5-5 from the free throw line and led 50-36 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. MDI didn't quit, and got the score within 8 in the 4th Quarter, before losing 60-48.

MDI had 3 players in double figures. Mollie Gray had 17 points with Lexi Tozier finishing with 13 points and Sophia Brophy had 12 points. The Trojans were 8-15 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray who had a game high 32 points. Abby Radel had 10 points. Jaffray had 3 3-pointers and Kaylee Bagley had a 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 14-18 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth finishes the season undefeated with a 18-0 record and will go in as the #1 seed in the Class B North Girl's Tournament. It's the 1st time that the Ellsworth Girls went undefeated during the regular season.

MDI finished the regular season with a 12-6 record and is waiting to see where they finish, and will either have a bye or a home prelim game depending upon the final standings.
