Ellsworth Girls Beat John Bapst 3-2
The Ellsworth Girls' Soccer Team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 3-2 at the University of Maine on Saturday, September 23rd.
The Crusaders took an early 1-0 lead, scoring with 6:18 gone. The goal was scored by #25 Claire Gaetani with an assist by #3 Aubrey Hanscom (Thanks to Rachel Olmstead for identifying the players)
Ellsworth tied the score with 1:05 remaining in the 1st Half, on a goal by Addison Atherton, assisted by Miah Coffin.
Ellsworth took a 2-1 lead with 6:59 elapsed in the 2nd Half, on a goal by Emily King.
With 25:07 remaining in regulation, John Bapst tied the game at 2-2 on a goal by Aubrey Hanscom
Megan Jordan scored the game-winning goal for the Eagles, with 18:21 remaining, assisted by Elizabeth Boles.
Ellsworth is now 7-1 on the season. They will host the Hermon Hawks, on Thursday, September 28th at Del Luce Stadium at 4 p.m. Ellsworth's lone loss came at the feet of the Hawks in the opening game of the season back on August 31st. Hermon beat Ellsworth 3-2.
John Bapst is 1-5 on the season. They host Caribou on Tuesday, September 26th at 3 p.m.
