Yet those players are still showing up at early morning practices, on the bench for all the games, and the loudest cheerers for their teammate on the floor.

On Saturday afternoon, the Ellsworth Eagles beat the Houlton Shiretowners 71-31.

The Eagles led 32-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 50-13 at the end of the 1st Half. It was 61-18 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Kaylee Bagley with a game-high 25 points, including 13 points in the 1st Quarter. She had 2 3-pointers. Addison Atherton had 14 points with 2 3-pointers and Elizabeth Boles had 13 points, also with 2 3-pointers. The Eagles were 9-16 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Reagan Wright with 12 points. Tori Ervin had 11 points including a 3-pointer. Houlton was 10-17 from the free throw line.

Houlton is now 1-10. They will host Presque Isle on Tuesday, January 14th at 6 p.m.

Ellsworth is now 7-3. They will host Hermon on Wednesday, January 15th at 7 p.m.
