Ellsworth Girls Beat Houlton 62-17 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat Houlton 62-17 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, January 6th.

Ellsworth led 19-2 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 36-2 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 49-13 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray with 14 points. Abby Radel and Elizabeth Boles each had 12 points. Ellsworth drained 7 3-pointers on the afternoon. Jaffray had 3 3's, Boles had 2 3's and Elise Sargent and Sydney Mason each sank a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 9-14 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Amelia Callnan who had 11 points including 3 3-pointers. The Shiretowners were 0-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 8-0. They will play at the Cross Insurance Center against John Bapst on Tuesday, January 9th at 6:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and any Alexa enabled device, with the pregame starting at 6:15 p.m.

Houlton is 4-5. They will travel North to play Presque Isle on Tuesday, January 9th at 7 p.m.
