Ellsworth Girls Beat John Bapst 49-33 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat John Bapst 49-33 on Thursday night, January 29th playing at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Getting a taste of the tournament floor, the Eagles raced out to a 14-6 lead in the 1st Quarter as Elizabeth Boles had 7 points for Ellsworth, while Julia Goodine had 4 points for the Crusaders.

Ellsworth led 23-14 at the half. The Eagles were 7-8 from the free throw line in the 2nd Quarter, led by Allie Bivens who was 4-4. Goodine had 5 points for the Crusaders.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth stretched their lead to 10 points 34-24.

Ellsworth was led by Elizabeth Boles with 16 points including a pair of 3-pointers. Kaylee Bagley had 10 points with a 3-pointer and finished 7-8 from the free throw line. Austyn Atherton had a 3-pointer.

John Bapst was led by Julia Goodine with 13 points. Maddie Peters had 2 3-pointers while CC Higgins and Amelia Turner each had a 3-pointer. The Crusaders were 3-5 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 10-6 and in 5th place in the Class B North Girls Heal Point Standings. The Eagles have 2 games remaining in the regular season. They travel to Caribou to play the Vikings on Saturday, January 31st at 3 p.m. and then end the season at home against MDI on Tuesday, February 3rd. Both games will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

John Bapst is 7-9 and are in 10th place in the Class B North Girls Heal Point Standings. They have 2 games remaining in the regular season. They travel to Bar Harbor to play MDI on Saturday, January 31st then close out the season against Hermon on Tuesday, February 3rd.
