Ellsworth Girls Basketball Tops Caribou 41-37

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team took the long trip up Interstate 95 on Wednesday, New Year's Day, coming home with a 41-37 win over the Caribou Vikings.

Ellsworth led 8-7 after the 1st Quarter and 23-19 at the Half. They were up 33-30 after the 3rd Quarter.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth hit 4 3's with the freshmen duo of Casey Carter draining 3 of them and Morgan Clifford the other.

Ellsworth was led by Casey Carter with 10 points and Trinity Montigny with 8 points. Samantha Carter had Ellsworth's other 3-pointer. The Eagles were 6-11 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Paige Espling with a game high 15 points. Ashlyn Bouchard had 9 points. The Vikings were 7-19 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth now 4-2 travels to Old Town on Saturday, January 4th to play the Old Town Coyotes at 3:30 p.m.

Caribou, 2-5, will play host to Washington Academy on Saturday, January 4th at 4:30 p.m.
