The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team gave the Class C defending champions Houlton Shiretowners a game and a half, leading through 3 quarters 31-29 before being nipped 43-41 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Saturday, December 21st.

Ellsworth led 7-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter, while Houlton led 21-18 at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth was up 31-29 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with 16 points while Casey Carter had 9 points. The Eagles drained 5 3-pointers, with Montigny scoring 3 of them, and Morgan Clifford and Casey Carter each adding a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 6-8 from the free throw line.
