Ellsworth Girls Basketball Beats MDI for the 1st Time Since 2004 35-31 [PHOTOS]
For the 1st time since December 2004, the Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the MDI Trojans, winning 35-31 on Thursday, January 10th in Bar Harbor.
MDI jumped out to a 12-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Maddy Candage had 5 points for the Trojans, Hannah Chamberlain 4 points with a 3-pointer and Lindsay McEachern a 3-pointer. Kylie Robidoux had all of Ellsworth's 6 points.
MDI increased their lead to 9 points at the end of the 1st Half, outscoring Ellsworth 7-4 in the 2nd Quarter. Chamberlain had 5 points for the Trojans with another 3-pointer and Julia Watras had 2 points. For Ellsworth Robidoux and Trinity Montigny had 2 points each.
Ellsworth cut the lead to 4 points in the 3rd Quarter with MDI leading 27-23. The Trojans had the lead until Robidoux scored with 1:19 left in the game to give Ellsworth a 32-31 lead. Montigny iced the game going 1-2 from the free throw line and then stealing the ball and dribbling three quarters of the court to lay the ball off the glass with no time left.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with 13 points and 2 3's. Kylie Robidoux had 10 points. Ellsworth was 3-14 from the free throw line.
MDI was led by Hannah Chamberlain with 13 points including 2 3's. Maddy Candage had 8 points. The Trojans were 4-11 from the free throw line.
