Ellsworth Girls and Boys JV Soccer Win Denny Harmon JV Soccer Classic Championships

Denny Harmon was a long-time Sumner High School coach and athletic director as well as a high school baseball, basketball, soccer, and softball official who passed away on May 22, 2021 at the age of 75.

The Denny Harmon JV Soccer Classic, named in his honor features teams from Downeast Maine. The Championships were decided Friday night, October 21st at Ellsworth High School.

On the Boys side Ellsworth defeated MDI 2-1 and on the Girl's side Ellsworth defeated Bucksport 2-1.

Scoring for the Ellsworth boys were Noah Frost and Alex McGowan. Hollis Grindal and Dawson Easler had an assist.

Jackson Berry was in goal the whole game.

For the Ellsworth Girls, the win in the Championship concluded an undefeated season, with the only blemish on their record 1 tie.

Ellsworth goals were scored by Addison Atherton and Taylor Libby assisted by Miah Coffin.

Libby Kohr was in goal the whole time for Ellsworth.
