Out of seasons of disappointment, the Seniors from the Ellsworth High School Football and Wrestling Teams are combining under the direction of Coach Sam Hughes to hold a pet food drive on Saturday, March 6th, to benefit the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

Traditionally the Ellsworth High School Football Team has collected non-perishable items at home football games to benefit the Pantry. However with both the football and wrestling seasons cancelled due to COVID, the Seniors from those teams will be at Ellsworth High School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. collecting pet food.

Pet food is expensive (said the owner of 2 Great Danes) and sometimes pet owners need a little help, especially with the rising cost of gas, heating bills in the winter, food and medicine expenses etc. You can drop off canned or bagged food Saturday, March 6th from 8 to 4.

As Coach Hughes said

Our athletic programs have always had wonderful community support. We feel that now , even though we are not able to play the sports we love, is a very important time to give back.
