Ellsworth Eagles Shutout MDI 7-0 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Eagles Softball Team beat MDI 7-0 on Senior Recognition Day at Ellsworth High School, on Friday, May 30th.

Senior Anna Stevens picked up the win for the Eagles, pitching a complete game, and limiting MDI to just 4 hits. She struck out 6 and walked 4. MDI's 1st 2 batters reached on back-to-back singles, but from there Stevens was in control.

Taylor Grant took the loss for MDI. The Senior allowed 10 hits and 7 runs, striking out 8 and walking 3.

Grant had a double for MDI. Ella Watson, Cate Brown and Grace Sinclair each had a single for the Trojans.

For Ellsworth, Senior Jadyn Sullivan was 2-4 with a home run, driving in a run.  Senior Mya Schildroth was 2-4 with a double and drove in 2 runs. Cam Clough had a pair of hits and drove in a run. Kaylee Bagley, leading off was 1-4 with a triple, driving in 2 runs.  Senior Maddie Damon had a single and drove in a run. Senior Jasmine Emerton had a single.

Ellsworth is 9-6 with 1 game remaining in the regular season, at MDI on Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:30

MDI is 6-7. They were supposed to play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 31st at Presque Isle but that has been postponed to Monday, June 2nd. They will then finish the regular season on Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:30 when they host Ellsworth.
