Ellsworth Boys Tame Presque Isle Wildcats 74-59
The Ellsworth Eagles Boys Basketball Team exploded for 28 points in the 3rd Quarter, after leading 36-32 at the end of the 1st Half, and beat Presque Isle 74-59 on Saturday, December 28th in Presque Isle.
The Eagles led 20-16 at the end of the 1st Quarter, 36-32 at the end of the 1st Half and 64-42 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
The Eagles were led by Jackson Curtis with a double-double, scoring a game high 27 points and ripping down 13 rebounds. Hunter Curtis also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds Ellsworth had 5 3-poiunters with Brett Bragdon sinking 2, and Connor Crawford, Darby Berry and Andrew Rideout with 1 each. The Eagles were 11-17 from the free throw line.
Presque Isle was led by Xavier McAtee with 16 points while Caleb Wheaton, Malachi Cummings and Mason Fletcher each with 10 points. Cummings had 2 3-pointers and McAtee had 1 3-pointer. The Wildcats were 10-14 from the free throw line.
Ellsworth is now 4-1 and will play at Husson University on Tuesday, December 31st at 3:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
