Ellsworth Boys Run Past Foxcroft Academy 84-58 on Senior Night

The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team ran past the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 84-58 on Senior Night at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Tuesday, January 28th. It was the last regular season home game for seniors J'Von James, Nick Kane, Austin Harris, Darby Barry, Kolbe Hardy, Connor Crawford, Adam Inman and Jackson Curtis

The Eagles jumped out to a 30-13 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Jackson Curtis had 12 points with a 3-pointer for Ellsworth. Austin Harris had 5 points with a 3-pointer. J'Von James and Hunter Curtis had 4 points each. Kolbe Hardy had his 1st varsity 3-pointer and Adam Inman had 2 points. For the Ponies Caleb Crocker had 9 points with a 3-pointer and Lucas Ames 4 points.

In the 2nd Quarter the Ponies outscored Ellsworth 24-18 but Ellsworth led 48-37 at the end of the 1st Half. For the Ponies Caleb Crocker had 10 points with 2 3's. Logan Martin had 6 points. Jed Deane had a 3-pointer. Lucas Ames had 3 points and Ethan Doore had 2 points. For the Eagles, Darby Barry had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Austin Harris had 5 points with his 2nd 3-pointer. Hunter Curtis had 4 points and Jackson Curtis had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Foxcroft Academy 18-10 to take a 66-47 lead. Hunter Curtis had 7 points. Adam Inman 5 points with a 3-pointer. Jackson Curtis had 4 points and Austin Harris 2 points. For the Ponies, Lucas Ames had 8 points and Logan Martin 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Nick Kane drained 2 3-pointers bringing the Ellsworth student section to their feet. J'Von James had 4 points, Hunter Curtis, Brett Bragdon and Jackson Curtis each had 2 points and Kolbe Hardy 1 point. For the Ponies Ames had 4 points. Caleb Crocker, Jed Deane, Sam Harmon-Weeks each ahd 2 points and Mikel Alvarez had 1 point.

Ellsworth was led by Jackson Curtis with 20 points and Hunter Curtis with 17 points. Austin Harris had 12 points. The Eagles were 8-15 from the free throw line

Foxcroft Academy was led by Caleb Crocker with a game high 21 points while Lucas Ames had 19 points. The Ponies were 16-17 from the free throw line

Ellsworth is 13-3 and will play at Hermon on Saturday, February 1st at 2:30. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device
