Ellsworth Boys Rally Late Beat Presque Isle 65-60
The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team was down 46-41 entering the 4th Quarter, but a strong 4th Quarter with clutch free throw shooting led to Ellsworth outscoring Presque Isle 24-14 to give the Eagles a 65-60 win on Friday, January 25th in Presque Isle.
Presque Isle led 20-17 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 34-28 at the end of the 1st Half. The Wildcats led 46-41 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
Ellsworth shot 48 percent from the field and had 3 players in double figures. Jackson Curtis had 22 points, Devin Grindle 15 points and Hunter Curtis 10 points. Presque Isle was led by Caleb Wheaton with 21 points and Jonah Hudson had 17 points. The Wildcats had 6 3-pointrs, 3 by Wheaton and 1 each by Jason Dumais, William Bridges and Cole Paterson. The Wildcats were 6-12 from the free throw line.
Ellsworth, now 10-4 plays at Caribou at 2:30 on Saturday, January 26th.
