The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team beat the Winslow Black Raiders 68-43 in a Class B North Prelim game, setting up a rematch with the MDI Trojans in the opening game of Tourney 2019 from the Cross Insurance Center on Friday, February 15th at 5PM.

The Eagles jumped out to a 17-14 in the 1st Quarter. Jackson Curtis had 8 points for Ellsworth, Darby Barry 6 points on 2 3's and Austin Harris had a 3-pointer. For WinslowJustin Laflamme had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Colby Pomeroy 5 points with a 3-pointer and Jacob Bisson was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Winslow 11-9 to take a 28-23 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Austin Harris had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Connor Crawford and Brett Bragdon each had a 3-pointer for Ellsworth. Justin Laflamme and Colby Pomeroy each had a 3-pointer and Jacob Bisson was 3-4 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth exploded for 27 points to take a 55-34 lead. Darby Barry had 13 points, with 3 3's. Austin Harris had 8 points with his 3rd 3-pointer of the night. Hunter Curtis, Jackson Curtis each had 2 points while Norman Jodrey was 2-2 from the free throw line. For Winslow Pomeroy had 10 points with a 3-pointer. Laflamme was 1-2 from the free throw line before fouling out with 2:28 remaining in the 3rd Quarter.

In the 4th Quarter Darby Barry drained his 6th 3-pointer of the night, and had 5 points for Ellsworth. Michael Palmer scored his first varsity basket and Austin Harris and Malcolm Svec each had 2 points. Jackson Curtis was 1-1 from the free throw line and Noah Neleski was 1-2. For Winslow Cameron Brockway had a 3-pointer and Kevin Ware had 3 points, going 3-4 from the free throw line. Pomeroy was 2-2 from the free throw line and Sebastian York was 1-2.

Ellsworth was led by Darby Barry with a game high 24 points. Austin Harris had 18 points while Jackson Curtis had 11 points. The Eagles had 11 3's on the night, and were 10-14 from the free throw line.

Winslow was led by Colby Pomeroy wiht 20 points while Justin Laflamme had 11 points. The Black Raiders were 13-21 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth, now 13-6 will play at the Cross Insurance Center in the Quarterfinals against the 3rd seed, MDI who have a 13-5 record. MDI beat Ellsworth twice this year, 59-38 on January 10th and then 49-37 on February 7th. Friday night's game tips off at 5PM with our pregame starting at 4:45.
