Ellsworth Boys Beat Washington Academy 48-38 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Boy's Basketball Team traveled to East Machias on Wednesday night, January 8th, coming home with a 48-38 win over the Washington Academy Raiders.

Ellsworth led 14-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 24-20 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 38-28 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Dawson Curtis with 13 points. Kyle Kenny had 12 points and Hollis Grindal had 11 points including a 3-pointer. Bryce Hart had 2 3-pointers. The Eagles were 13-26 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy was led by Clay Crosman who had a game-high 21 points including 4 3-pointers. Parker Cates had 5 points. Ben Hennessey and Max Cates each had a 3-pointer. Washington Academy was 2-5 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 8-1. The Eagles will travel north on Saturday to play at Houlton against the Shiretowners at 1:30 p.m. on January 11th. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame beginning at 1:15 p.m.

Washington Academy is now 3-5. They will host John Bapst on Saturday, January 11th at 5 p.m.
