Ellsworth Boys Beat MDI 84-50 [STATS & PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team went on a 15-0 run midway through the 1st Quarter and never looked back, beating the MDI Trojans 84-50 at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor on Wednesday, December 14th.

Ellsworth led 28-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and 41-28 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 61-40 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Chance Mercier led all scorers, scoring 28 points for Ellsworth. Miles Palmer and Peter Keblinsky finished with 11 points each. The Eagles were 20-25 from the free throw line. Miles Palmer drained 3 3-pointers and Cruz Coffin hit a 3-pointer in the 4th Quarter.

For MDI Kadin Reed was the top scorer with 14 points before fouling out. Evan Ankrom and Alex Gray each had 10 points. Reed had 4 3-pointers and Alex Gray had 2 3's. The Trojans were 10-23 from the free throw line.

MDI now 1-1 will play at Orono on Saturday, December 17th at 3:45 p.m. That game will be live streamed on Ticket TV

Ellsworth, now 2-0 will host Houlton on Saturday afternoon, December 17th at 3:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
