The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team doubled up John Bapst, beating the Crusaders 77-36 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Tuesday, January 9th.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 20-11 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 39-16 at the end of the 1st Half. After outscoring John Bapst 22-10 in the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth led 61-26.

Ellsworth was led by Chance Mercier with 28 points. Miles Palmer finished with 12 points and Hollis Grindal had 10 points. The Eagles sank 5 3-pointers on the night, with Mercier draining 3 and Palmer 2. Ellsworth was 12-20 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Tristen Martin with 12 points and Izak Robichaud had 9 points. The Crusaders had 5 3-pointers on the night. Martin had 2 3's, Elmer Robichaud 2 3's and Colby Haggerty had 1 2-pointer. The Crusaders were 1-4 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 8-2. They play at Orono on Thursday, January 11th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA with the pregame starting at 6:40 p.m. The game will also be heard on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

John Bapst is 1-9. They travel to Bucksport to play the Golden Bucks on Thursday, January 11th at 6:30 p.m.
