Ellsworth Boys Beat Central 46-43

The Ellsworth Boy's Basketball survived a late charge by the Central Red Devils and hung on to win Wednesday night, December 14th in Corinth 46-43. Jared Hamilton hit 2 free throws with 25 seconds left for the Eagles, and Central did get a 3-pointer off at the buzzer but the shot went wide, and Ellsworth moves to 2-0 on the young season!

Ellsworth was led by Bryce Harmon who had a game high 20 points. Zach Harris had 7 points as did Jackson Curtis. Trent Mahon, Troy Folmer and Zach Harris each hit 3-pointers for the Eagles. Ellsworth was 5-9 from the free throw line.

Central was led by Dylan Gray who had 16 points while Caleb Shaw had 12 points. Shaw and Gray each had 2 3-pointers, while James Doucette had a 3-pointer as well. The Central Red Devils were 6-9 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth 2-0 will play host to the unbeaten 2-0 George Stevens Academy Eagles in the Battle of the Eagles on Friday, December 16th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Central is 1-1 and is scheduled to play at Houlton on Saturday, December 17th at 1:30 PM.
