Ellsworth Boys Beat Bucksport 75-38 to Open Season [STATS]

It took awhile, but finally the shots started to fall for the Ellsworth Eagles, and once they did, they rolled over the Bucksport Golden Bucks 75-38 in Bucksport to open the 2023-24 season.

Ellsworth led 18-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 38-16 at the end of the 1st Half. They led 55-29 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Chance Mercier led all scorers with 16 points for the Eagles, while ripping down 17 rebounds for a dougle-double. Dawson Curtis had 15 points and Isiah Corson had 10 points. The Eagles sank 7 3-pointers. Dawson Curtis had 3 3's, Chance Mercier 2 3's and Miles Palmer and Hollis Grindal finished with a 3-pointer each. Ellsworth was 4-8 from the free throw line.

Bucksport was led by Evan Donnell with 11 points. Kamryn Webber had 9 points. He had Bucksport's lone 3-pointer. The Golden Bucks were 1-1 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is 1-0 on the season and will travel to Dover-Foxcroft on Monday, December 11th to take on the Ponies. Tip off is at 6:30 with the pregame starting at 6:15 on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Bucksport, 0-1, plays at GSA on Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30 p.m.
