Ellsworth Boys Beat Caribou 62-57 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Boy's Basketball Team beat the Caribou Vikings 62-57 on Saturday, January 31st up in Caribou.

Caribou jumped out to a 20-14 lead in the 1st Quarter led by Colby Ouellette's 7 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored the Vikings 19-4 to take a 33-24 lead at the Half. Ellsworth was led by Evan Haskell who had 11 points, including 3 3-pointers in the 2nd Quarter.

Caribou cut Ellsworth's lead to 5 points at the end of the 3rd Quarter 47, 42. Landen Belanger had 9 points in the 3rd Quarter to lead the Vikings.

In the 4th Quarter Jackson Barry had 11 points for the Vikings as the Eagles withstood Belanger's 10 points, including 2 3's.

Ellsworth was led by Evan Haskell with 17 points, with 4 3-pointers Colby Eaton had 16 points. Barry had 15 points. Bryce Hart had a pair of 3-pointers and Tyrus Baxter had a 3-pointer. The Eagles had 7 3-pointers and were 9-15 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Landen Belanger with 25 points, including 3 3-pointers. Owen Carrigan had 9 points with a 3-pointer. Carson Richards had 7 points with a 3-pointer. The Vikings had 5 3-pointers as a team and were 8-13 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 13-4 and solidified their 5th place in the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. They will host MDI on Wednesday, February 4th in their last game of the regular season. Caribou is now 14-3 and in 1st place in the Class C Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. They will host Presque Isle in their last regular season game on Wednesday, February 4th at 7 p.m.
