Ellsworth Girls Basketball Beats Belfast 54-33 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat Belfast 54-33 on Friday night, January 23rd at Katsiaficas Gymnasium.

Prior to the game, the Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team presented the Beth C. Wright Cancer Center a check for $3000. The money was raised as part of the pink uniform drive spearheaded by Elizabeth Boles.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 15-3 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 33-13 at the end of the 1st Half. Belfast outscored Ellsworth 12-6 in the 3rd Quarter, but Ellsworth led 39-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Austyn Atherton with 15 points with a 3-pointer. Kaylee Bagley had 12 points. Sydney Mason, Kennedy Clifford and Cam Clough each had a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 2-8 from the free throw line

Belfast was led by Hope Reynolds with 10 points. Julianna Sprague  and Annabelle Buzzell each had a 3-pointer. The Lions were 5-10 from the free throw line.

Belfast is now 4-11 with 3 games remaining in the regular season. They play Nokomis, Gardiner and Lawrence.

Ellsworth is now 9-6, with 3 games remaining in the regular season. They play at John Bapst, at Caribou and close out the season at home against MDI.
