Ellsworth Baseball Holds Off Hermon 3-2

The Ellsworth Baseball Team held off a rally by the Hermon Hawks to win 3-2 in Ellsworth on Tuesday, May 26th.

Ellsworth scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. With 1 out Gunnar Vines singled in Evan Haskell who had started the inning off with a single. Brayden Pooler then singled, driving in Dawson Curtis.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning with 2 out Jackson Barry reached on an error scoring Haskell, who had reached on a single.

In the top of the 6th inning Tommy Meserve scored for the Hawks on a passed ball and then Jackson Harris walked with the bases loaded, scoring Edgar Leclerc.

Dawson Curtis started on the mound for the Eagles. He went 5.1 innings picking up the win, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, He struck out 6 and walked 5, picking up the win. Jackson Barry earned the save, pitching the final 1.2 innings and striking out 4.

Leclerc started for the Hawks and went 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out 7 and walked 2. Jackson Harris closed out the game, pitching the final 1.1 innings, striking out 2.

Eli Cormier had a pair of singles. Tommy Meserve and Leclerc each singled.

Meserve had a stolen base for Hermon.

For Ellsworth Gunnar Vines had a pair of singles. Brayden Pooler, Brayden Sekulich, Dawson Curtis and Evan Haskell singled for the Eagles.

Haskell had a stolen base for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth is now 13-1. They play at Old Town on Thursday, May 28th at 4:30 p.m.

Hermon is 8-3. They play host to MDI on Thursday, May 28th at 4:30 p.m.
