The Ellsworth Baseball Teams swept the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, May 1st, defeating the Caribou Vikings in Ellsworth by the score of 5-3 and 12-0.

In the 1st game, Caribou took the lead in the 1st inning with singles by Cameron Ouellette and Caleb Espling to make it 1-0

Ellsworth answered as Brett Bragdon started the bottom of the inning off with a lead-off double. After getting to 3rd on a groundout to 1st, Bragdon scored on Hunter Curtis' sacrifice fly to left field.

Ellsworth took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd. Michael Palmer walked and stole 2nd. H scored on a single by Brett  Bragdon.

Caribou tied the score in the top of the 3rd inning.Cameron Ouellette singled and reached 2nd when Carter Quist walked. After advancing to 3rd on a ground out, Espling was intentionally walked to load the bases. He would score on an error.

Ellsworth added 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 4-2 lead. Hunter Curtis doubled and scored on a double by Peter Kablinsky. Kablinsky scored on a single by Michael Palmer

In the 4th inning Caribou scored their final run. Griffen McNeal started the inning with a single, and after a single by Matthew Smith, came around to score on Cameron Ouellette's 3rd hit of the game.

Ellsworth added their final run in the bottom of the 6th inning when Brett Bragdon doubled with 1 out He would score on an error after moving to 3rd on a groundout.

David Baugh pitched a complete game for Ellsworth. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3, 1 intentionally. He struck out 4 including the final batter of the game

Caleb Espling went the distance for Caribou. He struck out 2 walked 2 and gave up 11 hits.

For Ellsworth, Brett Bragdon was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Peter Kablinsky was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. David Baugh, Craig Burnett,and Michael Palmer had singles while Hunter Curtis had a double.

For Caribou Cameron Ouellete was 3-4 scoring 2 runs.

In Game 2 Hunter Curtis was on the mound for Ellsworth and he limited Caribou to just 2 hits in the mercy rule shortened 5 inning game. He struck out 10, and walked 3.

Brett Bragdon continued his hot day at the plate, going 2-3 with 2 singles scoring 2 runs and driving in 1 run.

Hunter Curtis had a single and drove in a run while scoring 2 runs.

Craig Burnett had a double.

Peter Kablinsky, Nathan Smith, Brady Kenney, Miles Palmer and Billy Garland all had had a single.

Ellsworth 3-1 will play at Bucksport on Tuesday, May 4th at 4:30 p.m.

Caribou 0-4 plays at home against Fort Kent on Friday, May 7th
