The Ellsworth Baseball Team traveled up to Presque Isle on Saturday, May 23rd, coming home with a doubleheader sweep of the Wildcats, winning 12-0 and 14-1.

Game 1 12-0 Win 

Jackson Barry was dominant on the mound for the Eagles, throwing a 5-inning perfect game, as he didn't allow a hit or walk a batter. Facing just the minimum 15 batters Barry struck out 10.

Dawson Curtis was 3-4 at the plate, with a home run and drove in 3 runs.

Barry helped himself at the plate going 2-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in a run.

Brayden Pooler had a double and drove in a run. Evan Haskell, leading off was 1-3 with a single and walk, driving in a run. Gunnar Vines was 1-2 with a pair of runs batter in. Porter Merrill had a single. Caleb Jordan had a pair of hits.

Ellsworth had 4 stolen bases with Jordan, Curtis, Joey Beal and Merrill each stealing a base.

Game 2 14-1 Win

Evan Hasketll picked up the win, allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run in 4.0 innings. He struck out 7 and walked 2. Zach Torrey pitched the final inning, walking 3 and striking out 1.

Porter Merrill led the Eagles at the plate, blasting a home run and single. He was 2-2, with 3 runs batted in.

Jackson Barry, Zach Torrey, Bryaden Pooler, Joey Beal, Caleb Jordan and Henry Bouchard each had a single.

Brayden Pooler and Joey Beal each had 3 runs batted in. Vines, Brandon Dandurand, Jordan and Bouchard each had a run batted in.

Ellsworth is now 12-1. They will play host to Hermon on Tuesday, May 26th.

Presque Isle is 4-8.They will play at Houlton on Wednesday, May 27th at 6 p.m.
