Ellsworth High School Baseball Team Sweeps Caribou In Doubleheader

The Ellsworth High School Baseball Team swept the Caribou Vikings 10-0 and 18-0 on Monday, May 18th at Ellsworth High School.

In Game 1 Jackson Barry and Zach Torrey combined to 2-hit the Vikings. Barry pitched 4.0 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 9 and walking 2 batters. Torrey pitched 1 inning, striking out 2.

Ellsworth banged out 6 hits. Dawson Curtis was 2-3 with a pair of doubles, and drove in a pair of 2 runs. Jackson Barry had a single and drove in 3 runs. Gunnar Vines had a single and drove in 2 runs. Caleb Jordan had a single and drove in a run. Evan Haskell and Coleman Welch each singled.

Brayden Pooler, Coleman Welch, Dawson Curtis and Gunner Vines each had a stolen base.

Reagan Ouellette and Nic Plourde each had a single for the Vikings.

In Game 2 Evan Haskell and Zack Torrey combined to pitch a no-hitter. Haskell pitched 3.0 innings and struck out 6. Torrey pitched the final 2.0 innings, striking out 3 and walking 1.

Ellsworth banged out 18 hits in Game 2.

Dawson Curtis was 3-3 with a double and drove in 3 runs. Jagger Huffman had a double. Evan Haskell was 2-3 with a run batted in. Brandon Blaisdell was 1-1 with a run batted in. Jackson Barry was 2-3 with a run batted in. Gunnar Vines was 2-3 with 4 runs batted in. Coleman Welch was 1-1 with a run batted in. Joey Beal was 1-1 with 2 runs batted in. Brayden Seckulich was 1-4 with 2 runs batted in.

Ellsworth is now 9-1. The Eagles will play in Bangor against John Bapst on Thursday, May 21st at 4:30 p.m.

Caribou is now 3-7. The Vikings will host the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Thursday, May 21st at 3 p.m.
