The Ellsworth Baseball Team opened the 2025 Baseball Season with a 8-0 shutout win over the Bucksport Golden Bucks on Wednesday afternoon, April 23rd in Ellsworth.

Jackson Barry picked up the win, pitching 5.0 innings. He struck out 11 and walked 5 while allowing just 1 hit. Dawson Curtis came on in relief and pitched 1.2 innings, striking out 4 and walking 2. Zach Torrey recorded the final out.

Ellsworth outhit Bucksport 7-1.

Kyle Kenney batting leadoff was 2-3 with a triple and run batted in. Brayden King was 1-4, with 2 runs batted in. Ridge Weatherbee was 2-2 with a triple. Hunter Boles and Thomas Jude each had a single, with Boles driving in a run.

Ellsworth stole 4 bases, with Curtis swiping 2 bases and Kyle Kenney and Ridge Weatherbee each stealing a base.

Ryan Winchester started for the Golden Bucks. He pitched 4.0 innings, allowing 5 hits and 4 runs, striking out 5 and walking 3. Nick Clair pitched the final 2.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits, walking 3.

Peyton Gray had Bucksport's lone hit.

Ellsworth 1-0 will host Old Town on Friday, April 25th. Bucksport, 0-1 will host Orono on Friday, April 25th at 1 p.m.

The Ellsworth Eagles hosted the Bucksport Golden Bucks Baseball Team in the team's mutual opener of the 2025 season.
