The Ellsworth Eagles beat the John Bapst Crusaders 7-5 at Husson University on Memorial Day, May 29th. The Eagles are now 9-6 with 1 game remaining in the regular season, at home on Wednesday, May 31st against MDI at 3:45 on Senior Day.

Sammy Mason started the game for Ellsworth, pitching 4 innings allowing 5 runs on 3 hits. Mackenzie Chipman came in relief, picking up the win, pitching the final 3 innings allowing just 1 hit and no walks.

Ellsworth plates 1 run in the 1st inning when Katelynn Bagley walked and ended up scoring on Callie Hammer's single to right center.

Ellsworth added 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning, when Ellie Clarke and Leah Stevens reached after being hit by a pitch., They then scored on wild pitches.

John Bapst scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to tie the score. Ellsworth and John Bapst both scored 2 runs in the 4th inning to tie the score at 5-5.

In the top of the 7th inning, Ellsworth scored 2 runs. Shelby Cote went to 1st base with a walk and was bunted to 2nd by Sydney Stevens. Cote scored on a throwing error and Stevens went to 3rd on a throwing error. She then scored on a wild pitch.
