Elllsworth Boys Basketball Beats Mt. View 78-61 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team beat Mt. View 78-61 in Thorndike on Saturday afternoon in the team's 1st game of the 2022-23 season.

The game was close at the end of the 1st Quarter with Ellsworth leading 24-17 and 41-36 at the end of the 1st Half. But Ellsworth outscored Mount View 20-9 in the 3rd Quarter to lead 61-45 and never looked back in the victory.

Ellsworth was led by Chance Mercier who had a game-high 37 points. Kyle Kenny had 9 points and Eamon MacDonald had 8 points. Ellsworth was 12-19 from the free throw line. The Eagles had 6 3-pointers. MacDonald had 2 3's and Chance Mercier, Miles Palmer and Josiah James-Chin each had 1 3-pointer.

Josiah James-Chin and Dawson Curtis scored their 1st varsity points for Ellsworth.

Mt. View was led by Wyatt Evanson who finished with 21 points. Max Bottenfield had 12 points and Tyler Russell and Noah Hurd each had 11 points. The Mustangs were 15-27 from the free throw line. Hurd had 3 3-pointers, Bottenfield 2 3-pointers and Russell 1 3-pointer.

Ellsworth now 1-0 will play at MDI on Wednesday, December 14th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Mt. View, 0-1 will host Belfast on Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30 p.m.
