Ellsworth High School will be looking for a new Varsity Softball Coach in 2019 as Head Coach Dorothy "Dottie" Cameron O'Donnell has accepted the Assistant Coach position at Colby College in Waterville, working with former Husson University Coach Terren Allen who became the Colby Coach this fall.

When asked about her time at Ellsworth High School O'Donnell said

It has been such an amazing opportunity to be a part of the Ellsworth culture. I will forever be thankful for not only the experience but also to the players, parents, and coaches I've met along the way

O'Donnell is being inducted into the Husson University Hall of Fame on December 7th.

The 2010 NAC Player of the Year, Dorothy "Dottie" Cameron O'Donnell led the Husson softball program to four straight NAC Regular Season titles and three consecutive NAC Championships and berths into the NCAA Championship tournament during her four-year fearless career from 2008-2011.

Cameron hit .355 (195-for-550) with 128 runs, 32 doubles, 14 triples, 11 home runs, 107 RBI and 54 stolen bases in 167 career games played under Hall of Fame head coach Amanda Bourgoin.

The two-time All-Conference outfielder also posted a career .524 slugging percentage, a .397 on-base percentage, a .921 on-base plus slugging percentage and a .857 stealing percentage with 288 total bases and 57 extra-base hits.

The fearless outfielder enters the Hall of Fame as the program's all-time career leader in at-bats (550) and hits (195), and ranks second in games played and total bases, third in runs and RBI, fourth in triples, tied for fourth in homeruns, fifth in stolen base attempts and extra-base hits, sixth in stolen bases, tied for sixth in doubles, 14th in slugging percentage, tied for 16th in batting average, and tied for 20th in on-base plus slugging percentage.

Cameron also holds the program's longest hitting streak of 18 games and the longest reach base streak of 31 games.

She was also selected to the Conference All-Tournament team in 2009 and 2011, while being tabbed as the Conference Tournament MVP in 2011 by Coach Bourgoin.
