EHS Knocks GSA From Ranks of Unbeaten
The Ellsworth Eagles' Boys' Baseball Team knocked GSA from the ranks of the unbeaten, as they defeated George Stevens Academy 8-3 in Blue Hill on Thursday, May 18th.
Conner Wagstaff pitched 6 2/3 innings striking out 13. In the 1st inning he struck out 1, and then in the 2nd inning he struck out the side. In the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th innings he struck out 2 in each inning. He walked 2, hit one batter and allowed 3 hits. Brad Smith pitched the final 1/3 of an inning striking out 1.
Taylor Schildroth had 2 singles and Stefan Simmons had a double for GSA.
For Ellsworth Jack Lee had a double and single, Jared Hamilton had a single, Sam Horne had a single, Chris Barnes had a single, Adam Bradshaw had a single, Jackson Curtis had a single and Devin Grindle had a single.
Ellsworth is now 6-3 and plays at Caribou in a doubleheader on Saturday May 20th at 12 Noon and 2 PM.
George Stevens is 8-1 and plays at Dexter on Friday, May 19th and then plays home against Dexter on Saturday, May 20th at 12 Noon.
