EHS JV Girls Defeat MDI 41-29 [PHOTOS/STATS]
The Ellsworth JV Girls Basketball Team defeated MDI 41-29 on Tuesday afternoon, January 26th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.
MDI-Ellsworth JV Girls Game January 26, 2021
Ellsworth jumped out to a 12-0 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Megan Jordan and Aaliyah Manning each had 4 points for the Eagles while Allie Neleski and Alex Bivins each had 2 points.
Ellsworth outscored MDI 10-6 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 22-6 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Jordan and Wendy Manning each had points while Alex Bivins chipped in 2 points. For MDI Charity Weaver, Emma Simard and Brooke Goff-Perrault each had 2 points.
MDI outscored Ellsworth 15-10 in the 3rd Quarter to cut the lead to 11 points 32-21 at the end of the 3rd period. Soren Hopkins-Goff had 7 points for MDI, while Emma Simard had 6 points. Olivia Pratt added 2 points for the Trojans. For Ellsworth Megan Jordan had 6 points while Aaliyah Manning and Wendy Manning each had 2 points.
MDI was able to cut the lead to 9 points in the 4th Quarter, but Ellsworth outscored MDI 9-8. Megan Jordan had 5 points for Ellsworth while Alexis Bradford and Shaelyn Carter each had 2 points for the Eagles. For MDI Hopkins-Goff had points including a 3-pointer, while Simard and Sharyn Lipski each had 2 points.
Ellsworth was led by Megan Jordan with a game high 19 points. Aaliyah Manning and Wendy Manning each had 6 points. The Eagles were 1-2 from the free throw line.
MDI was led by Soren Hopkins-Goff with 11 points while Emma Simard had 10 points. The Trojans were 4-14 from the free throw line.
Ellsworth is now 3-0 and will play at Sumner on Monday, February 1st at 4:30 p.m.
MDI is 0-1 and will play at Brewer on Wednesday, January 27th at 5 p.m.
