The Ellsworth JV Girls Basketball Team defeated MDI 26-23 Thursday evening, March 4th for the Hancock County JV Girls Basketball Championship at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 7-1 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Megan Jordan had 5 points for Ellsworth while Aaliyah Manning was 2-2 from the free throw line. For MDI, Soren Hopkins-Goff was 1-2 from the free throw line.

It was 13-8 Ellsworth at the end of the 1st Half. Megan Jordan had 4 points for Ellsworth while Aaliyah Manning chipped in 2 points. For MDI all their points came from the free throw line. Hopkins-Goff was 2-4. Emma Simard was 2-2 and Mallory Dunbar, Brooke Goff-Perrault and Sophia Thurston were each 1-2. The Trojans went 7-12 from the free throw line in the 2nd Quarter.

In the 4th Quarter MDI outscored Ellsworth 7-4 but couldn't close the gap. Emma Simard had 5 points for MDI and Brooke Goff-Perrault 2 points. For Ellsworth Megan Jordan and Aaliyah Manning each had 2 points.

Ellsworth was led by Megan Jordan with a game high 15 points while Aaliyah Manning had 8 points. The Eagles were 4-10 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Emma Simard with 7 points. The Trojans were 13-24 from the free throw line.
